We want to raise up the next generation of Alpha practitioners who are able to lead, train, and pioneer Alpha across the UK starting in London. You’ll grow through:
Real, hands-on mission, evangelism and church strategy development across London.
Leadership development through HTB Academy.
Practical ministry experience within Alpha UK.
Exposure to national Alpha initiatives and campaigns.
Formation through community, mentoring, and shared rhythms.
This is a hybrid between a ministry and a leadership development programme, combining practical skills, spiritual growth, and placement-based experience.What sets us apart isn’t just our process — it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.

ALPHA UK STUDENTS’ TEAM OR ALPHA UK YOUTH TEAM
STUDENTS
1. Student Mission & University Engagement
You’ll work closely with the Alpha UK Students Lead to help reach and support the major universities across London. This includes:
Connecting with Student ministries across London.
Supporting Alpha Freshers Fairs.
Helping students launch and run Student Alpha in their homes and churches.
Coaching student leaders in evangelism and leadership.
Supporting the rollout of the new Alpha Series on campuses.
2. Supporting the Alpha UK Students Team
You’ll be integrated into the Alpha UK Staff Team at Cromwell Road and participate in:
Training days for church leaders and student teams.
Alpha UK events, gatherings, and campaigns.
Administrative and operational support for the student strategy.
YOUTH
1. Youth Mission & Evangelism Engagement
You’ll work closely with the Alpha UK Head of Youth to help innovate, reach and support the churches & schools running Alpha Youth across London. This includes:
Connecting with Youth Leaders across London.
Supporting Alpha Youth Training events.
Empowering young people to launch and run Alpha Youth in their schools.
Supporting the continued growth and innovation of the Alpha Youth Series.
2. Supporting the Alpha UK Youth Team
You’ll be integrated into the Alpha UK Staff Team at Cromwell Road and participate in:
Training days for Youth Leaders and Youth teams.
Alpha UK events, gatherings, and campaigns.
Administrative and operational support for the youth strategy.
ADDITIONALLY, IN BOTH TEAMS YOU WILL BE INVOLVED IN:
3. Leadership, Formation & Skills Development
Alongside the wider HTB Academy, you’ll grow through:
Biblical and theological input (Wednesdays)
Leadership training (Monthly Alpha UK Team Calls)
Mentoring and reflection (Weekly/Bi-Weekly 1-1’s)
Team life with HTB Group (Alpha International and HTB Church)
Opportunities to develop skills in:
Hosting and speaking.
Evangelism.
Workshop leading and training.
Project planning and vision casting.
Social media marketing.
4. Alpha in the Local Church
As part of your placement, you’ll help run and serve on Alpha at a local HTB Network church on a weeknight gaining experience in:
Hosting/Helping in the small groups.
Helping guests explore faith.
Hospitality and creating a welcoming environment.
Learning the Alpha DNA from the inside.
5. As a placement student, you’ll have access to:
Alpha UK Staff Team Retreats & Socials.
The Leadership Conference 2027.
Focus 2027.
Alpha UK Gatherings & Training events.
Participate in national campaigns and content creation.
These opportunities will give you a full experience of Alpha’s culture, leadership and long-term vision.

The course fees cover tuition, books for required reading, retreats and Academy events. We are sadly unable to offer financial support or help in finding accommodation or covering living expenses.
We have a limited number of bursaries available to contribute towards course fees for students who have exhausted all other options of income and financial support. These can be applied for once you have been accepted onto the course.
