About this event

We would love to welcome you to our Alpha in Prisons Training Day at St Thomas Church Charlton

The aim of our training is to equip those new to Alpha in prisons to run Alpha successfully in their local prison. For those already involved with Alpha in a custodial environment, we hope the event will serve as a refresher that will provide some new perspectives on running Alpha in this challenging and rewarding context.

During the training we will cover the important security and safeguarding procedures you need to be aware of; as well as more practical sessions on how to structure your Alpha and how to lead small group discussions. We will also look at Alpha's latest resources and how you can best use them in a prison . The training is informative and interactive, it also offers the opportunity to meet with others interested in running Alpha in prisons.

Registration and coffee are at 10.00am, training will start at 10.30am and finish around 3.00pm. Training is free but please do book on so that we can accommodate you. Coffee and snacks will be available but lunch is not provided so please do bring a packed lunch.

Alternatively there are some shops nearby.

We look forward to seeing you!
