Joseph’s Story – Welcome to the family

Joseph set off from the Alpha office in South Kensington and relocated to St Swithun’s, Lincoln with his wife and newborn, unparalleled Alpha wisdom in tow. Lincoln residents were already exploring Alpha through the work of local churches, though there is always space for a new injection of how the needs of the community can be met through other Alpha offerings.

There is a natural link for those who want to invest in their relationship to connect with the church. The Marriage and Marriage Preparation Courses act as a bridge between the church and the local community, the course recognising the need to go beyond the social, as well as physical walls of the church to help couples with their relationships. From attending a Marriage Course, the opportunity of seeing the church in a new light and Christianity in a whole new way can often lead to an experience at Alpha too.

The Marriage Course can be the first step for a couple to see the church in a new light and the meaning of Christianity in a whole new way. Through this tool, the church can provide the opportunity for someone to think that they might like to find out more because The Marriage Course have given them a different perspective about what the church is about.
