Alpha Prisons Training, Weymouth

Thursday 30th August, 09:00 – 14:00

Training aimed at church volunteers who wish to run the Alpha course in a prison context.

About this Event

We would love to welcome you to our Alpha - Prisons Training Day at The Prayer House, Weymouth. The aim of this day is to train those who are new to Alpha Prisons, in how to run Alpha successfully in their local prison. For those that are already involved in Alpha Prisons, we hope the event will serve as a refresher that will provide some new perspectives on running Alpha in a custodial environment.

During the training we will cover the important security and safeguarding procedures you need to be aware of, as well as more practical sessions on how to lead small groups, how to present the teaching and how to pray for guests on Alpha in prisons. We will also look at Alpha's latest resources and how you can best use them in a prison context. The training is informative, interactive and fun, it also offers a good opportunity to meet with others interested in running Alpha in a prison.

Registration and coffee are at 9.00am, training will start at 9.30am and finish around 2.00pm. Training is completely free but lunch is not provided so please bring a pack lunch, alternatively you can visit the shops and cafes surrounding the venue.

In order that we have the correct number of training packs on the day please register by Tuesday 28th June using this page.

We look forward to seeing you.
