Alpha Prisons Training, Portsmouth

Saturday 30th March, 09:30 – 15:30

We would love to welcome you to our Alpha Prisons Training Day at St George's Church, Portsmouth.

The aim of our training days are to equip those who are new to Alpha Prisons to run Alpha successfully in their local prison. For those already involved in Alpha Prisons, we hope the event will serve as a refresher that will provide some new perspectives on running Alpha in a custodial environment.

During the training we will cover the important security and safeguarding procedures you need to be aware of; as well as more practical sessions on how to lead small groups, how to give great live talks and how to pray for guests on Alpha. We will also look at Alpha's latest resources and how you can best use them in a prison context. The training is informative and interactive, and offers a great opportunity to meet with others interested in running Alpha in a prison.

Registration and coffee are at 9.30am, training will start at 10am and finish around 3.30pm. Training is free but please do book on so that we can accommodate for you. Lunch is not provided so please do bring a packed lunch (local shops also available).

Nearest Rail Station: Portsmouth Harbour Station is a 3 minute walk from the church

Car Parking nearby: Gunwarf Quays car park is a 3 minute walk. Alternatively a Park and Ride system operates from the outskirts of the city for £4/car. Nearest bus stop is The Hard Interchange: https://parkandride.portsmouth.gov.uk/index.shtml
